Nelms Loses In Match Play Semifinal

NASHVILLE -- Hixson's Josh Nelms lost in a semifinal here Sunday in the TGA Tennessee Match-Play Championship at the Nashville Golf and Athletic Club.

Nelms lost to Hunter Kraus, 2 and 1. In the other semifinal, Zachary Olsen beat Brendon Caballero, 6 and 4.

In the final, Zachary beat Hunter, 4 and 3.

Buzz Fly beat Mike Freels, 2 and 1 for the Senior title.

Signal Mountain Girls 4th, Rhea County 12th At 1st Annual State Track Meet

The Signal Mountain girls finished fourth and the Rhea County boys 12th at the first annual state indoor track meet held Saturday at Johnson City. For the girls, Tyner was ninth and East Hamilton was tied for 13th. Rhea County and Ooltewah tied for 19th. Red Bank was 25th. For the boys, Baylor was 23rd and McCallie 37th. Woman Stabbed By Husband In Dalton Dies From Her Wounds

A woman who Dalton Police say was stabbed Thursday by her husband has died of her injuries.   Glenda Dyer had been transported to Hamilton Medical Center.
