Michael Lee Mock, 33, of Dalton, GA, died Thursday evening, June 27, 2013 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth.

Michael was born September 30, 1979 in Dalton; and was preceded in death by his daughter, Kaitlin Leigh Mock; and a grandmother, Margie “Tad Pole” Overby.

He is survived by his wife, Tabitha Mock; children, Kadie Ann Mock, Emma Jaden Mock, Krista Mock and Jordan Mock; mother, Patricia Ann Rainey; father, Mike Mock; step-mothers, Neise Cornette and Louise Cox; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Debbie Mock; step-sisters, Brenda Williamson, Sandra Lang and Jennifer Lemay; grandmother, Beth Pratt; sister-in-law, April Chadwick; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Michael Lee Mock will be held Tuesday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel.  He will be laid to rest with his beloved Little Kaitlin at the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Brandon Moore, Josh Mull, Joseph Shutley, James Krincek, Jason Meeks and Derreck Bias serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 1 and after 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2 at the Ponders Melrose Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.

Couple In Small Plane Make Emergency Landing On Highway 27 North Of Dayton

Tom Webb and his fiancée were traveling from Pigeon Forge to Winchester when, at 5,500 feet, they experienced engine trouble. They lost their engine and had to make an emergency landing on Highway 27 north of Dayton. Man At Homeless Camp On Chestnut Street Charged With Trying To Set Fire To Another Man

A man at a homeless camp on Chestnut Street has been charged with trying to set fire to another man at the camp. Richard Warren "Trey" Erwin, 40, is charged with aggravated arson. Police were called to the 2200 block of Chestnut at 12:40 a.m. Earlier, Michael Nye and Alisa Buckels had called for an ambulance.
