Following a six-day jury trial, Virtual Studios, Inc., recovered a verdict in the amount of $1,950,000 against Beaulieu Group, LLC for willful copyright infringement.
Virtual Studios, Inc., is a Dalton-based business that creates various media products including room scenes that allow carpet manufactures to display their different types and colors of carpet products.
Virtual and Beaulieu did business for a number of years until Virtual complained that its copyrights were being infringed upon.
Virtual's claim for an entry of an injunction has been set before Judge Curtis L. Collier on Aug. 15.
Virtual Studio's Inc was represented by Mike Anderson and McKinley Lundy of Patrick, Beard, Schulman and Jacoway, P.C.
Attorney Peter Farley said Beaulieu disagrees with the verdict and plans to appeal.
