Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

M.L. King Boulevard between Market Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East 8th Street and M.L. King Boulevard will be closed from 5:30 p.m.-midnight on Friday for the Nightfall Concert Series.  The 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at ML King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East 8th Street. There will be limited handicapped parking in the 900 block of Georgia Avenue on the Miller Park side on the meters covered with orange "reserved" bags.

The portion of River Street from Coolidge Park connecting to Renaissance Park will be closed from 6-11:30 p.m. on Saturday, for First Things First Movies in the Park.  Accommodations will be made for Riverboat patrons entering from Renaissance Park.

Riverfront Parkway between Chestnut Street and Power Alley will be closed at 8 a.m. on Saturday, from the beginning set up for the Chattanooga Waterfront Duathlon.  Beginning at 5 a.m. on Sunday, the southbound curb lane and ramp of the Veterans Bridge will be closed.  Riverfront Parkway from Aquarium Way to M.L. King Boulevard, the south bound exit ramp of Highway 27 at M.L. King Boulevard and the inside lanes of north and south bound Highway 27/29 from the M.L. King exit ramps to just south of Highway 29 at Dayton Pike will be closed until 10:30 a.m. North and south bound vehicular traffic on Highway 27/29 will be detoured off and back on to the highway in the vicinity of the M.L. King Boulevard and 4th Street ramps.  The south bound entrance ramp from 4th Street to Highway 27/29 will be closed; Chestnut Street and Power Alley from 2nd Street to Riverfront Parkway will be closed.  M.L. King Boulevard will be closed to Grove Street.  Riverfront Parkway, Boynton Drive and Gateway Avenue will be closed at M.L. King Boulevard.  Roads will open as they become available.  With the exception of Riverfront Parkway between Chestnut Street and Power Alley, which will be open by approximately 6 p.m., all streets should be open by 3 p.m.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday, for the Chattanooga Market.
