Geonta Gaines, 18, Shot On Gillespie Road Friday Evening

Police are investigating a shooting on Friday that sent a man to the hospital. 

At approximately 7:21 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting at 454 Gillespie Road where they found the victim, Geonta Gaines, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound to his side. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.  

It was reported to detectives that the suspects shot Gaines and fled in a car. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.

Gaines was arrested in April for aggravated assault.
