6 Families Displaced After Red Bank Apartment Fire

Monday, July 15, 2013

Six families will be staying in temporary housing Monday night due to an apartment fire at 300 West Midvale Avenue in Red Bank.

At 7:30 p.m., a 911 call was received reporting an apartment was on fire. Red Bank Fire Department responded and reported fire and smoke showing in one of the units. Firefighters worked quickly to knock the fire out to keep the fire from spreading to the adjacent units.

No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries. Fire officials reported apartment #9 had severe fire damage and the other units had smoke and water damage.

Damages are unknown at this time and the cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Red Bank Fire Department.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the families of the six units. The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department also responded to assist Red Bank for additional manpower.

A shelter was opened at Red Bank Baptist Church to temporarily house the families.
