Christopher D. Johnson has been sentenced to serve eight years and four months in federal prison for his part in the theft of 16 guns from a house in Rhea County and for their disposal - including to a Chattanooga gang member.
Johnson appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice following his earlier guilty plea to possession of a stolen firearm.
Authorities said Johnson was with two men who went into the house on Sept. 26, 2012.
Two days later, a deal was arranged to sell the guns to the gang member. As it turned out, he was working as a confidential informant for the Chattanooga Police Department and the ATF.
Johnson was caught on video on a home surveillance system bringing the stolen firearms to a residence on one of his co-defendants.
