Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Deputy Commissioner Brock Hill will hold a community gathering on Friday, July 19, to formally introduce Erin Medley, the newly-appointed manager of Red Clay State Park. An informal meet and greet will begin at 2 p.m. at Red Clay State Park, at 1140 Red Clay Park in Cleveland. In addition, Ms. Medley will share future plans for the park and announce upcoming events.
Ms. Medley officially joined Red Clay State Park in March. She has served with the department since 1998 in a variety of roles, including a seasonal interpretive recreator, volunteer and park ranger.
She has worked on several projects at Red Clay that provide a “Living History” component to the Cherokee Days of Recognition. Medley was also instrumental in starting the Friends of Red Clay State Park volunteer group.
