Bucs' Anderson Shines On Mound For East Cobb Renegades

Boyd-Buchanan pitcher Skyler Anderson, who is coming off a strong sophomore season with the Bucs, was selected to the all-tournament team at the Perfect Game 17-under national championships.

The tournament attracted 296 teams and 6,808 players from across the country.

Anderson, playing with the East Cobb Renegades, threw a complete-game shutout against the Illinois Elite from Springfield, Ill. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out eight.

Over the summer, Anderson leads the Renegades starters in strikeouts (40), ERA (2.06). He has pitched 36.2 innings and has a 2-2 record.

GPS Wins 3-1 Over John Paul II

GPS improved to 9-3-1 overall and 4-3-1 in region play after beating John Paul II 4-1 Tuesday afternoon.   GPS led 2-1 at the half.   Keyle Snyder had two goals for GPS.  Myra Brock and Avery Campbell also had goals.  Kylie Eiselstein, Lane Lawrence and Meg Priest had assists.   Lexie Besh had four saves for GPS.   (click for more)

Covenant Volleyball Wins 3-0 Over Maryville

The Covenant volleyball team raced out to a 12-0 lead in the opening set and used the momentum from that and a large home crowd inside Barnes Physical Education Center to defeat Maryville 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-23) in a critical USA South showdown on Tuesday night.
