Maxine Walker Quarles, 71, of Dalton, GA, died Thursday morning, July 18, 2013 at the local hospital.
Maxine was born September 27, 1941 in Dalton, a daughter of the late Rollie McKinley and Vina Mae Barton Walker. She was a graduate of Dalton High School and worked many years as a bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Quarles; and a sister, Pat Gentry.
She is survived by her son, Marty Quarles and his fiancée, Carmon Patterson; grandson, Nathannael Quarles; brother, Rollie Walker, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Kendrick, Jackie Dyer, Linda Williams and Teresa Hensley; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Maxine Walker Quarles will be held Sunday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at the Abundant Life Baptist Church with Reverend J.R. Holcomb officiating. Pallbearers will be, Scotty Dyer, Shane Williams, Todd Williams, David Dyer, Billy Hampton and Zeb Hensley. Jimmy Kendrick will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, July 27.
