Ashmore Avenue Reopens

The city of Red Bank will reopen a section of Ashmore Avenue Wednesday. 

Red Bank City Manager Randall Smith said, "We are pleased to announce the reopening of Ashmore Avenue ahead of schedule.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of the neighboring property owners and the traveling public that were detoured during the construction period." 

The 1800 block of Ashmore Avenue was closed to through traffic on May 5 due to damage caused by heavy rain which made the roadway unsafe for vehicular travel. 

Brown Brothers Construction has completed the repairs at a cost of $61,300 to the city.

Severe Storms Rake Chattanooga Area; Flash Flooding Possible

Severe storms raked through the Chattanooga area on Saturday. Sale Creek was one of the hardest hit areas. Storm damage on Cooper Road included two crushed cars. Trees were on homes and railroad tracks that are the main line between Chattanooga and Cincinnati. Cooper Road is near Lake Chickamauga.
