Ashmore Avenue Reopens

The city of Red Bank will reopen a section of Ashmore Avenue Wednesday. 

Red Bank City Manager Randall Smith said, "We are pleased to announce the reopening of Ashmore Avenue ahead of schedule.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of the neighboring property owners and the traveling public that were detoured during the construction period." 

The 1800 block of Ashmore Avenue was closed to through traffic on May 5 due to damage caused by heavy rain which made the roadway unsafe for vehicular travel. 

Brown Brothers Construction has completed the repairs at a cost of $61,300 to the city.

TDOT Halts Lane Closures On Tennessee Highways For Labor Day Weekend

The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways for the busy Labor Day holiday travel period.  Construction crews will stop all lane closure activity beginning at noon on Friday through 6 a.m. on Tuesday.  This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists traveling during the busy Labor Day holiday. ... Plan Revived For 5-Story Boutique Hotel Next To The Walnut Street Bridge

Plans have been revived for a five-story boutique hotel next to the Walnut Street Bridge. Vision Hospitality Group said the yet-to-be named hotel will provide 90 rooms featuring high-end amenities and exemplary service in the city's art district. Grand Jury Says County Needs To Start "Immediately" On Funding A New County Jail

Members of the Hamilton County Grand Jury said in a final report that the county needs to start "immediately" on funding a replacement for the Hamilton County Jail. Better Plan For Walnut Street Hotel

Mitch Patel and his Vision Hospitality Group have unveiled a revised plan for a hotel on Walnut Street. It is much better than the one proposed two years ago.
