Burks United Methodist Summer Of Service At Chester Frost Park Sunday

A Summer of Service outreach at Chester Frost Park Shelter No. 3 and the Chickamauga Dam area, presented by members of Burks United Methodist Church, 6433 Hixson Pike, will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, where they will hand out food to campers.

The Summer Gatherings will continue on Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m. in the narthex for a time of discussion of controversial issues from a spiritual perspective. The topic this week will be "meChurch -- Is It About Me?" Come early at 6 p.m. for coffee, snacks and a time of fellowship before the discussion starts.

The College and Career Class, open to all ages, will have August Fun Day at Coolidge Park on Saturday, Aug. 3, beginning at 11:30 a.m., with rock climbing, hotdogs, Frisbee, football and soccer. For information, contact Doug Bruggink at 423 994-4848.
