Booker T. Washington State Park Hosts Outdoor Celebration

Booker T. Washington State Park will host an outdoor celebration on Friday, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. 

There will be fishing, canoeing, hiking, archery, bird and reptile exhibits, face painting, and other educational games. 

Lunch will be provided to all who participate. This is a free public event.

The park is at 5801 Champion Road, Chattanooga, and the event will be held at Picnic Area #1.

Pets must be on a leash, small children must provide own life jackets/adult life jackets available, and bikers must wear safety helmets

Man At Homeless Camp On Chestnut Street Charged With Trying To Set Fire To Another Man

A man at a homeless camp on Chestnut Street has been charged with trying to set fire to another man at the camp. Richard Warren "Trey" Erwin, 40, is charged with aggravated arson. Police were called to the 2200 block of Chestnut at 12:40 a.m. Earlier, Michael Nye and Alisa Buckels had called for an ambulance.
