Rosa Lee Callahan, 80, of Dalton, GA, died Saturday morning, July 27, 2013 at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Rosa was born February 10, 1933 in Dalton, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Emma Mae Keith Brock; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Callahan; son-in-law, Kenneth Brock; grandson, Blake Callahan; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W. and Nellie Brock, Clinton and Edna Brock and Betty Sue Brock; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lela Mae Brock, Evelyn and Milburn Bell, J.L. Ashe and Bill Bates.
Rosa and her late husband was the owner’s of B & B Fringe Company for the past 46 years. Rosa and Ralph joined the New Zion Hill Baptist Church in 1954. The family would like to say a very special thanks for all of the nurses at Hamilton Medical Center on the third floor, the doctor and nurses took care of all of us. “We will never forget you”.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Brock; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Loretta Callahan and Raymond and Barbara Callahan; grandchildren, Adam Callahan, Ben Callahan, Tiffany and Jay Bolt, Lauren and Derek Howard, Hayley Callahan, Mallory Callahan and Angela Elliott; great-grandchildren, Hannah Bolt, Justice Bolt, Ava Parrish and Julissa Callahan; brothers and sister-in-law, Reverend Marvin Brock and Paul and Evelyn Brock; sisters, Patsy Ashe and Mertice Bates; a very special friend, Shirley Yaeger; several nieces & nephews; and many friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rosa Lee Callahan will be held Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Marvin Brock and Reverend Scott Winters officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the New Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Adam Callahan, Ben Callahan, Jay Bolt, Derek Howard, Lamar Brock and Douglas Brock serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Monday, July 29 and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 30.
