Some of the most talented musicians ever to play Chattanooga are returning this Friday and Saturday night after a long, long absence. The new version of the Austin Nichols Band, comprised of Kris Phillips, Jeff Hight, Mark Trundle, Jim Reece, and Scott Wilson will be appearing at Jack A’s Chop Shop on Friday and T-Bones on Saturday.

Consider this – Kris Phillips was the 2009 Guitar Player of the Year recipient and considered one of the best ever to play in Chattanooga venues. He is the guitar player that other guitar players come out to see. Jeff Hight has one of the most powerful and finest voices in Chattanooga and a member of the 2012 Chattanooga All-Star Band. Mark Trundle is a seasoned drummer and has played in bands with Kris Phillips for many years, including the original Austin Nichols Band. Jim Reece is on Bass and Scott Wilson is on keyboards. I don’t know them well, but if Mark Trundle, Jeff Hight and Kris Phillips are involved in the project, they have to be good.

According to Mark, the band will play classic rock tunes not ordinarily done by other bands, and of course – some blues tunes that I am sure will feature Kris Phillips amazing guitar work. Once again, Jack A’s Chop Shop Saloon on Ashland Terrace between Dayton Blvd and Hixson Pike this Friday night. They will be at T-Bones Café at Chestnut & Main Streets on Saturday night. No cover charge at either of the venues and the food is great at both of them!

Picture shown is not current. It was taken last week. Ok, just kidding – that is the original Austin Nichols Band!
