Jewell Taylor Garner, of Red Bank, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.  She was 93.

Jewell was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area.  She was a graduate of Central High School and Edmondson Business College.  Jewell started her career with Southern Railway in 1945 and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with over 38 years of service in 1983.    

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Ross Taylor; and brothers, John Ross Taylor and Milton Taylor.

Jewell is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Don W. Garner; son, Tim Taylor Morris, Sr. and wife Judy; grandchildren, Tim Taylor Morris, Jr. and wife Susan and Laura Morris; great grandchildren, Catherine, Avery and Samantha Morris; sister, Maureen Boyd; nephew, Taylor Boyd and niece, Suzanne Hammond and husband Krew.  

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the North Chapel.

A graveside service will follow at noon on Saturday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

The family has suggested that you make memorial contributions in Jewell’s name to a charity of your choice. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
