James Alvin “Buddy” Cope, 73, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Fort Valley Nursing Home in Fort Valley, Georgia.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Lois Cope.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Burkett; son, James A. “Tony” (Jan) Cope; sisters, Joyce (Fletcher ) Green, North Vernon, IN, Betty “Sue” (Don) Walker, of Athens, GA; three grandchildren, John (Amanda) Giedinghagern, Marshfield, MO, Matthew (Collette) Burkett, Milford, UT, and Candes Cope; long time companion, Debbie Mathis; special friend, Helen Allen and several nephews.
The Reverend Gary Hedges will conduct a graveside service at 3 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 12, in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
