Signal Mountain's MerylAnne Dexter won the 2014 Miss Country Sunshine Pageant on Saturday night in McMinnville.
The 21-year-old Brigham Young University Senior and GPS graduate receives a $500 scholarship and will compete at the Miss Tennessee Pageant in June.
The genetics and iotechnology major who is an aspiring genetics counselor won talent with her vocal on La Vie En Rose.
Miss Dexter's platform is Making Dreams Come True - The Make A Wish Foundation.
UT-Chattanooga communications senior and recent WDEF News 12 intern Ashley Broockman was the second runner-up.
Also at Miss Tennessee will be Miss Metropolitan Darby Schumacher of Hixson, Miss Chattanooga Jaclyn Torrento and Miss Tennessee Valley Hayley Lewis.
