The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Whitfield/Murray County Employer Committee will sponsor a seminar for employers on motivating employees in the workplace and avoiding unnecessary employment litigation.
The seminar, designed for employers, business owners and human resource (HR) professionals, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in Building B at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, located at 2310 Maddox Chapel Rd., N.E. in Dalton.
Jonathan Martin of Macon, a partner with Constangy, Brooks and Smith law firm and a former chairperson of the Georgia Employer Committee, will lead the seminar. Its title is: Covering Your Assets: Practical Tips to Avoid High-Dollar Litigation and Motivating Employees to Excellence.
The cost of the seminar is $35 a person but seating is limited. To register, contact Alicia Holden at the employer committee at 706/537-7870 or email email@example.com. Attendees may receive 3.0 recertification credits with the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) for attending the seminar. HRCI is an internationally recognized certifying organization for the human resources profession.
Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers. The Whitfield/Murray County Employer Committee is comprised of employers in Murray and Whitfield counties.
