Buddy Mondlock Plays At Charles And Myrtle's Saturday

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Buddy Mondlock will play at Charles and Myrtle's Coffeehouse Saturday at 8 p.m.  The coffeehouse is inside Christ Unity Church at 105 McBrien Road.  There is a $10 suggested donation at the door.

Review for Buddy Mondlock:

 Buddy Mondlock writes songs.

He does it so well that some great songwriters have recorded his songs on their own albums. Guy Clark, Nanci Griffith and Janis Ian, to name just a few. But theres nothing like hearing the guy who wrote em sing em. Hes not going to pin your ears back with those songs. Hes going to draw you into his world.

Where a single snowflake follows the trajectory of a relationship, where you get your pocket picked by a Roman cat, where you might swim over the edge of the world if you're not careful and where dreams that don't come true still count. And it can all be happening in a little folk club or on a stage by a grassy hill or in someones living room or in the Royal Albert Hall.

A Memorial Day Reflection

I wish I could find that combination of words that would capture an inclusive meaning of Memorial Day.  I have attended many Memorial Day programs at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, so many that now they have merged into one memory.  But what stands out is that each year there are more friends and veterans to visit.  Some gave their all many years ago.  And ...
