The city and county are set to donate a 13.7-acre tract on Moccasin Bend for the Moccasin Bend National Archaeological District.
The property has long been leased to a model airplane club.
National Park officials said they wanted the tract earlier, but it was not included in the initial district boundaries. The boundary has since been extended.
Park officials said the tract is needed to get access to significant archaeological sites.
