Chattanooga Central Announces Sports Hall of Fame

Fabulous 14 forms Inaugural Class

They are known as the Fabulous 14 who wore the Purple and Gold of Chattanooga Central High School.

The accomplishments of the athletes and coaches who will form the school's inaugural hall of fame class are impressive. Their impact in the world of sports has reached well beyond 500 Dodds Avenue and Highway 58.

The lives and achievements of Etter, Farmer, Test, McCoy, Slaten, Hoppe and more have touched national caliber levels from football to basketball to baseball, golf to boxing and softball.

Homecoming Oct. 11-12: One hundred years of athletic greatness will be honored on Fri. Oct 11 at  the Central-Brainerd football game.

Fri. Oct 11

4:30 p.m. - hall of fame bar-b-que dinner

6:40 p.m. - inductees will be introduced on the football game

7:30 p.m. - Football Game- Brainerd vs. Central

Sat. Oct 12

Hall of Fame Golf Tourney: Sat. Oct. 12 - Bear Trace in Harrison .

Noon - $100 per player ... $400 per team ... awards dinner to follow the golf tournament.

Hamilton County Principals Say Part 1 Of TN Ready Testing Should Be Cut Due To Online System Failure

Hamilton County principals are asking that Part 1 of the TN Ready Assessment be dropped this year due to the recent crash of the online system for the program. Allan Walsh Named New Bradley County Workhouse Superintendent

Sheriff Eric Watson announced the appointment of Allan Walsh as superintendent of the new Bradley County Workhouse, which will begin construction soon and be opened this year.  Plans are for the new facility, to be adjacent to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Jail and Courts complex, to hold up to 128 non-violent, low security inmates.
