Howard Callaway
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday added Bradley County fugitive Howard Montgomery Callaway to the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted List. A short time later, Callaway was taken into custoy.
Based on information developed by the U.S. Marshal's Service, just after 6:30 p.m. Calloway was apprehended by the Marshal's Service assisted by the Bradley County Sheriff's Office. He was caught the 100 block of White Oak Road after first attempting to flee on foot.
Callaway, 39, had been wanted by the TBI, U.S. Marshal’s Service and Bradley County Sheriff’s Office on 32 counts of aggravated burglary, aggravated evading arrest and violating his federal probation while on supervised release.
On Monday, TBI agents attempted to take Callaway into custody at the intersection of Bancroft Road and Harrison Pike when he fled and attempted to run over the agent with his vehicle forcing the agent to fire his weapon at Callaway. The TBI agent was not injured. Callaway and his passenger fled, abandoned the vehicle and then ran into the woods. Callaway’s passenger, later identified as April Michelle Gammil, 34, of Cleveland, was captured by law enforcement on Tuesday morning.
