Signal Mountain Genealogical Society Meeting September 3

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will meet at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Walden Town Hall, 1836 Taft Highway. 

The meeting will begin with refreshments followed by the business session and program at 1:30 p.m.  T

he guest speaker for the September meeting, Patricia Jobe, will present a program on “Ulysses S. Grant, The Man, Not The Soldier.”    As always, guests are welcome.

Freudenberg Grocery Long Operated In North Chattanooga

The Freudenberg Grocery long operated on North Market Street in North Chattanooga.   However, it closed in the mid 1940s due to A&P and Krogers moving up the street.    Earl Freudenberg, longtime local radio broadcaster, said his great-grandfather, George A. Signal Mountain Genealogical Society Meets April 3

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at the Walden Town Hall, 1836 Taft Hwy.  Refreshments will be served followed by a brief business meeting and program.  The speaker for the April meeting, Norma Jean Hobbs, will speak on, “The Hixson – Hixon Family Ties.”  Visitors are always welcome. South Carolina Man Arrested For Identity Theft After Signal Mountain Woman Gets Bills Of Over $27,000

A Darlington, S.C. man has been arrested and brought back to Chattanooga after a Signal Mountain woman said her identity was stolen and over $27,000 in bills were rung up. Jason Rashaad Jones, 36, was charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal impersonation, identity theft, forgery, theft of property and computer offenses. Hamilton County Clerk's Office Honors Donors With Donate Life Flag
