2-Boat Collision Sends 3 To Hospital On Norris Lake

A two-boat collision on Norris Lake near Anderson County Park sent three occupants to the hospital early Friday night. 

According to TWRA Sgt. Roy Smith, the accident occurred on Friday night around 9:21 p.m. when a runabout boat and a bass boat collided nearly head-on.

 Two of bass boat's occupants were ejected and all three passengers were transported to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  The two occupants of the runabout were uninjured.

Sgt. Smith also stated that there was evidence of alcohol onboard both vessels and Blood Alcohol Content testing was performed on both operators in accordance with state law.

The accident remains under investigation by the TWRA.
