Delbert “Raymond” Berry, 79, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Tuesday, August 27, 2013.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1933 to William and Marie Berry. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1951.  He graduated from UTC in 1962 and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.  He also served in the Army. He was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and a member of the Genesis Sunday School Class. He was also a restaurant manager in the Chattanooga area for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gloria Berry of Rossville; his daughters, Denise Berry of Rossville and Kristi (Ray) Tipton of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Kayla Berry, Sydney Berry and Tyler Tipton; great-grandchildren, Remy Brown and Braylon Brown; and his cousin, Joyce Hickey whom he was raised with as brother and sister; and several other cousins.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga for their care and support and nurses, Jill and Sonya.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home.   

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, at the funeral home with Dr. Bill Owens and Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Genesis Sunday School Class.

Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorial donations may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church (1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421) or Hospice of Chattanooga (4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416).

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
