Lula Mae Gentry, 82, of Summerville, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Gentry was born May 19, 1931 in Chattooga County, GA. She was a housewife and a member of the Chelsea Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Gentry; son, Richard T. Gentry; father and mother, Albert W. and Maggie Brown Smith; and sisters, Janice Smith, Inez Brown, and Shirl Rabdeau.
Mrs. Gentry is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hughes and Susan Gentry and partner Lisa Venable of Trion; son, Charles and his wife Sandra of Trion; sisters, Leona Prince, Minnie Smith, Beth Wentz of Menlo, GA and Carolyn Hanks of Cedar Bluff, AL; brothers, Wiley Smith of Boaz, AL, George Smith of Summerville, GA, and Junior Smith of Alpine; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 30, at 4 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Tapp officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Hughes, Justin Hughes, Jimmy Prince, Keith Smith, Kelly Wentz and John Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Life Choice Hospice and the Ladies Sunday School Class of Chelsea Baptist Church.
Visitation for Mrs. Lula Mae Gentry will be Thursday, August 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
