Hundreds of clergy, people of faith are expected to gather for candlelight vigil in Chattanooga at 8 p.m. on Thursday to pray that Governor Haslam, the lieutenant governor, and legislature will find a compromise that would provide thousands with health insurance, organizers said.
The Chattanooga vigil is one of five to be held across the state as part of Faith Statewide Day of Action.
Organizers said, "It follows a gathering of 250 ministers in Nashville at the capitol to call on state, federal government to put politics aside and come together to adopt the Tennessee plan to reform, retool and expand Medicaid."
The vigil will be led by Rev. Wayne Johnson, New Hope Baptist Church and Rev. Roderick Ware, New Monumental Baptist Church, at New Monumental Baptist Church, 901 Woodmore Lane, Chattanooga
