The Original Payday Loan

Thursday, August 29, 2013

With all the comments and media about payday loans there is something missing. I am 77 years old and can remember going to our local branch bank and getting my first loan. I got $100 on a 90 day note. Over the years this was used by the bank's customers. During this time the minimum amount available was raised to $200, $300 and continued until was no longer available. The last 90 day note I got from the bank was a minimum of $1,000.

Whatever you think about payday loans, good or bad, might I suggest that you go to your local bank and ask for a loan of $200 for 30 days and then share the results on Chattanoogan.com. I believe the readers would be interested in the process and results. In some areas the "good old days" had some good that has been lost.
