Good Shepherd Lutheran Hosts Free Concert By Zambian Group Aug. 25

Saturday, August 3, 2013

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 822 Belvoir Ave. in East Ridge, is hosting a free concert by the Zambian Vocal Group on Sunday evening, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m.

The male quintet, originally from Zambia and now based in Texas, sings a capella and tours across the U.S. with the mission of supporting, originally, a Zambian school for orphans and disadvantaged children, and now a school bearing their name in Lusaka, Zambia. The proceeds from their concerts plus fundraising they sponsor enabled the school to be built.

They perform at the Dollywood Festival of Nations every year and have produced several CDs.

A free-will offering will be taken to help support their ministry, and they will be selling beautiful African merchandise as well as their CDs.
