Charles “Charlie” Butler White, 77, of Cohutta, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Clellie White; daughter, Christy Goins; and brothers, Floyd White and Billy White.
He was a member of Cohutta First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda White of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Madelynn Phillips of Ooltewah; daughters, Pam Bearden of Dalton and Angie Phillips of Delray Beach, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and James Johnston of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Deanna Bowman of Dalton, Carey Bearden of Dalton, Zaelyn and Zoah Phillips of Ooltewah, Damian and Eric Goins of Ringgold; sister-in-law, Sandra Cook of Tunnel Hill; brothers-in-law and spouses, Earl Burnette, Jr. and Becky of Cohutta and Billy Burnette and Betsy of Cohutta; great-grandchildren, Hannah Whitlock and Katie Cox of Cocoa Beach, FL; and special great-granddaughter, LaShae Bowman of Dalton.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. White will be held Saturday, August 31, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. John Bagley and Rev. Cecil Williams officiating. Burial will be at United Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Cohutta First Baptist.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 30 from 3-9 p.m.
