Walker County Sheriff’s Office Receives Grant From Governor’s Office Of Highway Safety

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded an $8,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to purchase the Intoxilyzer 9000.

The Intoxilyzer 9000 is utilized in obtaining the implied consent state administered breath test for prosecution of DUI offenders.

According to GOHS data, there were 298 alcohol related fatalities in Georgia in 2010, and 52,775 impaired driving arrests during FY 2010.
