The Chattanooga Christian School football team baptized its new soccer/football stadium on Friday with a 48-6 win over Lookout Valley.
The first high school game on the new state-of-the-art turf field went well for the Chargers as they scored 28 points in the first half.
CCS scored on their opening drive capped off by a 1 yard D.J. Toney touchdown. Lookout Valley answered with a drive of its own. Evan Walker scored the Yellow Jackets' lone touchdown of the night from one yard out.
CCS would pour it on in the second quarter with three scores. Zach Mercer scored on a five-yard pass from Jonathan Farlett, Toney scored on a 2 yard run and Mercer ran for a 22-yard touchdown.
In the third quarter, Jared Miller found Austin Mansell for a 12-yard touchdown and Clark Marshall for a 13-yard touchdown.
CCS's final touchdown came in the fourth quarter when Sam Ibach stripped the ball from a Lookout Valley ball carrier and ran it in from 14 yards out.
CCS will play at region rival Notre Dame next Friday.
The Yellow Jackets will take next week off and play Grace Academy in two weeks.
