GOP Embarrassment - And Response (2)

Sunday, August 4, 2013

Only the TV show Honey Boo Boo could reach the no class level as the mean-spirited GOP leaders who snubbed the President of the United States on his recent visit to our city.

Over the course of my voting lifetime, I have evolved from a Young Republican to a dyed-in-the-wool-no-questions-asked Republican, finally maturing into a voter who realized the value of weighing all sides.  But this latest stunt by the GOP made it easy to drop my Independent status and align myself with integrity.

Never again will I give consideration to any candidate with an R after his name.   Now my only hope is that 'Boo Boo'  and these redneck bozos all suffer the same fate in the polls and fade into Tennessee's most embarrassing memories.

A recent writer in this forum criticized the Tennessee Republican Leadership for not attending the dog and pony show put on by President Obama at Amazon last week. She actually said their non-attendance put them in the "no class level" of the noted TV celebrity Honey Boo-Boo.

If the writer had simply done a Google search of Miss Boo-Boo, she would have discovered that on Oct. 15 of last year the lovely Honey enthusiastically endorsed President Obama's re-election on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I guess that is an example of low class recognizing low class.

Ms. Miller, may I suggest that by stating that you will never again give consideration to a candidate with an R after his name, you are painting yourself into a corner for the future.  Just because one or more representatives did something that you found offensive doesn't mean that everyone in their party agrees with that behavior.  This seems to me to be a gross over-generalization.

No one should be a dyed-in-the-wool-no-questions-asked anything...no questions equals no thinking.  You state that you have matured into a "weighing all sides" individual, but I wonder if that's really true.

Not A Good Ole Boy

Roy Exum continues to reload his poisonous pen.  Yesterday he wrote some untruths about me and some of the other board members that just happen to be educators as well.   For the record, one cannot run for school board if one is a teacher at the time of the election.   He said that I was still teaching when I was on the school board-not possible.  I retired in ... Legislative Survey Is Biased

Recently I received a survey from Gerald McCormick. I started to complete the survey but discovered that numbers 2 and 3 were so biased that any results are invalid. The voucher question (#2) is extremely biased with a very leading question, 3 "Yes" responses framed in positive language, and one "No" framed in negative language.  McCormick is using faulty data and sweeping ... FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Red Bank Lions finally reached the mountain top as far as high school wrestling is concerned. The Lions had finished second to Bradley in the State Duals back in 1995 and it had been 16 years since the Lions had been involved, but they put an exclamation point on a strong dual-meet season by winning the Class A-AA title here at Williamson County Agricultural ... FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Bradley Bears have won more state duals titles than anyone and they added another one after going four years without being in the championship round.
