Arnold Barker
Arnold Barker, Jr., 89, of Harrison, died on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
A lifelong resident of Harrison, he was of the Baptist faith and was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of World War II, having served at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the USS Hornet Club, Inc. in honor of those who served on the USS Hornet CV/CVA/CVS-12. He was also retired from Olan Mills and was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Barker; four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his five daughters, Marcia (Jerry) Driver, Waco, TX, Becky (Leon) Crowe, Harrison, Kathy (Dale) Bishop, Harrison, Candy (Sonny) Frizzell, Old Hickory, TN and Cindy (Ray) Snyder, Ooltewah; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, in the Valley View Chapel with the Reverend Floyd Robinson and the Reverend Tony Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Harrison Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
