James Pratt and James C. Whitmire of Colony Land & Investments are proposing townhomes and condominiums on a 15.2 acre site at 5650 Cassandra Smith Road in Hixson.
Proposed density is 3.4 units per acre.
The site is adjacent to Amberbrook Gardens.
Tim McClure and J.R. Barker are proposing an apartment project at 4815 Hixson Pike.
They are seeking rezoning to build 130 units on the 6.1-acre site.
The site currently is vacant except for a vacant single-family house.
The Regional Planning Agency staff is recommending denial, saying the Hixson Pike request is not in line with the Hixson Plan and the project would have a detrimental effect on nearby single-family residences.
The projects come before the Planning Commission next Monday at 1 p.m. at the County Courthouse.
