A home was damaged by fire in the Dallas Bay area on Wednesday.

At 5:30 p.m., a neighbor called 911 reporting a house fire at 9334 Smith Cemetery Road. The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded and reported flames through the roof.

Chief Markus Fritts, Dallas Bay VFD, requested a Mutual Aid response for additional manpower. The Red Bank Fire Department responded. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and extinguished it from spreading throughout the entire house.

No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS Medic 12 was on the scene for any potential injuries to firefighters.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Steve Hendrickson, the renter, stated the Electrical Power Board had been at the house turning on the power an hour prior to the house catching on fire. Damages are listed at $50,000.

The homeowner, Jerry Summers, who owns several rental homes, was on the scene.

If anyone has additional information, they are advised to contact the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
