Student Injured In Gator Accident At East Hamilton High Files Suit

A student who was injured in an accident involving a Gator all-terrain vehicle has filed a lawsuit.

Heather Whalen and her parents, Michael and Debra Whalen, are suing the Hamilton County Schools, principal Gail Chuy, football coach Ted Gatewood and student Ayana Barrett.

The suit, filed by attorney J. Taylor Walker, says on Aug. 7, 2012, Ms. Whalen was a passenger in the Gator driven by Ms. Barrett. It says Ms. Barrett abruptly engaged the vehicle and quickly accelerated it while making an unexpectedly sharp turn. It caused Ms. Whalen "to be thrown out of the moving vehicle and violently onto the ground."

She received severe personal injuries, it was stated.

The suit asks $400,000 in damages.  


Nissan Altima Crashes Into Cleveland Habitat For Humanity ReStore

A white 1999 Nissan Altima crashed into the Habitat for Humanity's ReStore at 4605 North Lee Highway in Cleveland on Tuesday. Trio Robs Gas Station In Cleveland

Three black males robbed a gas station in Cleveland on Tuesday afternoon. Officers responded to the Hi-Tech gas station and convenience store at 2293 APD 40 at 2:42 p.m. after a 911 call came in as a robbery in progress.
