Suit Filed After City Garbage Truck Runs Over Corvette Parked On Street

A man is seeking $25,000 in damages after a city garbage truck ran over his Corvette that was parked on a city street.

William M. Christman is suing the city of Chattanooga in Circuit Court.

He said the 2001 Corvette suffered "substantial damage" in the incident on Aug. 7, 2012.

Mr. Christmas said a city employee operating a large knuckle-boom truck informed him "that she had accidentally backed over the Corvette."

The suit was filed by attorneys Frank Pinchak and Eric Burnette.



Mitchell Wants Council Members To Stick To $2,000 Travel Allotment

City Council Chairman Jerry Mitchell said he wants council members to stick to their $2,000 allotment for annual travel expenses. He said the council earlier set aside $18,000 for council travel.
