Memphis – Southern Heritage Classic Tickets are now on sale for one of the biggest football games as Tennessee State takes on Jackson State 6 p.m. Sept 14 at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Nashville – “Peter Pan” – During the month of August, receive $8 off of tickets to the Nashville Ballet’s new production of “Peter Pan” playing Oct. 18-20 by using the promo code PETERWEB.

Memphis – Elvis Week – Take part in this annual gathering of friends and fans from around the world as they celebrate the life and legacy of Elvis featuring music, special speakers and a candlelight vigil at Graceland.

Aug. 15

Gallatin – 3rd Thursday on Main – Hear live music featuring Daryle Singletary 6:30 p.m. on Gallatin’s Downtown Historic Square.

Jonesborough – Shop, Dine & Unwind – Grab dinner and shop at gift shops until 7 p.m. in downtown Jonesborough; then enjoy a storytelling concert featuring David Holt 7:30 p.m. at the International Storytelling Center.

Aug. 16-17

McKenzie – Southern Fried Food & Sweet Tea Festival – Get a taste of all things fried like Oreos, bacon, pickles, grits and more in downtown McKenzie. Fireworks, music and craft vendors are also included.

Aug. 16-25

Spring City – “Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner” – Laugh endlessly at Pat Cook’s comedy about three geriatric sisters and a live-in nurse with a secret 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at the Tennessee Valley Theatre. Tickets are $10.

Aug. 16

Memphis – “Aloha from Hawaii 40th Anniversary” – Celebrate entertainment history with a special enhanced screening of Elvis’ landmark 1973 television event 7:30 p.m. at The Orpheum Theatre. VIP tickets are $91.50 and general admission is $37.50.

Jonesborough – “From Jonesborough to Africa” – Browse Richie Hayward’s photography ranging from travels to Africa to popular Jonesborough spots with an opening reception 5 p.m. at the Jonesborough Visitor’s Center.

Aug. 17

Memphis – Chucalissa Art Exhibit – Browse artwork by campers of the Art of Voice Summer Camp that reflects their voices as artists 4 p.m. at the C.H. Nash Museum. Light refreshments will be served.

Knoxville – 2013 East Tennessee History Fair – From the Cherokee to the present, celebrate the region’s history with historic crafts, characters, home tours, graveyard and museum tours and much more in downtown Knoxville.

Baxter – Wine, Stein & Shine Tour – Enjoy a one-of-a-kind tour through DelMonaco Winery, Calfkiller Brewery and Short Mountain Distillery 9:30 a.m. at DelMonaco Winery. For more information, call 931-858-1177.

Gainesboro – Gourd Gala and Car Show – See local artists and hear the rumble of a “Hot Rod Lincoln” and more at the Gainesboro Court Square.

Cookeville – Parade of Homes See a showcase of newly constructed homes with the latest trends in design, construction, energy efficiency and more beginning at 1524 Bradshaw Blvd.

Aug. 20

Hendersonville – Trinity Music Taping – See a live taping with singers/songwriters Jason Crabb, Joshua Price, Brandy Allison, Allan Scott, Jon Bauer, “The Fittest Man on Earth” Rich Froning and professional skateboarder Eliot Sloan 7 p.m. in the Trinity Music City USA Auditorium.

Aug. 22

Maryville – Hugh Livingston – The local organist will perform a concert on a box organ 7 p.m. in the Reading Rotunda of the Blount County Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Aug. 23-24

Nashville – American Cornhole Association – Cornhole competitors from across the U.S. will compete for $10,000 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

Aug. 24-25

Rugby – Wearable Colors from Nature – Learn how to spin natural fibers on a drop spindle and a spinning wheel, how to choose natural plants and turn them into a vat of color and the steps in preparing yarn for a project 9:30 a.m. at the community building in downtown Rugby. 

Aug. 25

Nashville – Exhibition Closing – Snag the last chance to see “Stop. Take Notice!” The exhibit is a community art project inspired by Nashville-area teens and explores community issues in the Frist Center for the Visual Arts’ Conte Community Arts Gallery.

Nashville – Huey Lewis & the News – One of the biggest 1980s bands will perform their hits including “I Want a New Drug,” “If This Is It,” “The Heart of Rock & Roll” and more 7:30 p.m. at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
