Michael Godwin Identified As Man Hit And Killed On Bonny Oaks

A man was hit by a truck on Bonny Oaks Drive on Tuesday morning, and he later died. He was identified as Michael L. Godwin of Chattanooga.  

At approximately 6:40 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a pedestrian struck call in the 3900 block of Bonny Oaks Drive.  When officers arrived they found that a 50-year-old man had been struck by a truck.  

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.  

Witness statements and evidence at the scene show that the victim was running across Bonny Oaks when the truck swerved to avoid the collision, but to no avail.  

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
