  • Wednesday, September 11, 2013

A stalemate was broken on selecting a new County Commission chairman pro temp on Wednesday when Commissioner Marty Haynes switched votes.

He moved from supporting Chester Bankston to backing Jim Fields.

That led from a three-way tie that also included Commissioner Tim Boyd to a vote between Commissioners Fields and Boyd.

Commissioner Fields won 5-4 after getting support from himself, Commissioner Haynes, Joe Graham, Larry Henry and Fred Skillern.

Commissioner Boyd got votes from himself, Greg Beck, Warren Mackey and Commissioner Bankston.
