Several churches in the East Brainerd area have joined together to make a difference in the lives of students at both East Hamilton High School and Tyner Academy. Noted pollster George Barna states that America’s youth are largely unfamiliar with the Bible’s basic teachings, inviting a host of social and personal troubles and five in 10 students have had little or no exposure to the wisdom and knowledge of the Bible.
Statistics like these are real in our nation and in the East Hamilton and Tyner area.
As in the days of Judges 2:10, a whole generation is growing up who know neither the Lord nor what he has done for us.
For this reason, 13 East Hamilton and Tyner area churches have signed onto a voluntary initiative to support the Bible in the Schools initiative to fund two full-time Bible history teachers at East Hamilton High School and Tyner Academy. A banquet will be held at East Hamilton High School Gym Sunday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. to share a meal, to pray for our students, and to raise money to support this valuable initiative.
Churches participating will be: Brainerd Hills Baptist Church, Christ United Methodist Church, City Church, Concord Baptist Church, Covenant Presbyterian Church, East Brainerd Church of Christ, Morris Hill Baptist Church, Redemption Point Church, Ridgedale Baptist Church, Shelter Church, Silverdale Baptist Church, The Crossing Church, Tyner United Methodist Church
