Granite Transformations, a global full-service home and business remodeling resource known for its revolutionary stone resurfacing process, named Chattanooga and Knoxville franchise owners, Buddy and Patti Baker as the 2012 Franchisees of the Year during Granite Transformations’ Annual Convention in Long Beach, CA.
“This award means everything to us and shows the company’s recognition for the hard work we do,” said Mr. Baker. “I really give the credit to our 20 employees.”
Winners of this award are designated to the franchise owners who exemplify outstanding sales results for the year, and utilize Granite Transformations’ franchise system for support. The Bakers were also recognized for their impressive and loyal service to the company, as well as triumphant return after a severe flooding. Just six weeks after tripling their work space at the Knoxville location in 2011, heavy rains caused flooding to their newly remodeled showrooms and offices twice in one month.
“We are pleased to award Buddy and Patti as the 2012 Franchisees of the Year for providing remarkable service to their customers,” said Paul Lane, chief operating officer. “They truly embody what it means to be a successful, dedicated franchise and we are delighted to have them as part of the Granite Transformations family.”
The Bakers have owned their Knoxville location for eight years and opened their Chattanooga location in 2012. Mr. Baker, who was previously a men’s buyer for large department stores, immediately changed careers after learning more about Granite Transformations’ franchise design.
“The products and the business model are what ultimately drew us to the company,” Mr. Baker said. “We wanted to represent the brand well and be a stand-up company for our customers.”
