A former employee of a company contracted with the state to provide counseling services to juveniles has turned herself in on charges related to having sex with one of the minors she was assigned to help in Monroe County, the TBI said.
Last week, Jamie Tesoro, 29, of Knoxville, was indicted by the Monroe County Grand Jury on six counts of statutory rape. While employed by Health Connect America, a company that contracts with various state departments to provide services to juveniles, Ms. Tesoro began a sexual relationship with an underage minor she was assigned to counsel through the Monroe County juvenile probation office, officials said.
The relationship began in December 2012 and continued until May 2013, it was stated.
The 10th Judicial District Attorney General’s office requested the TBI to investigate in May. The Department of Children’s Services and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
Ms. Tesoro was booked into the Monroe County Jail on $25,000 bond.
