Soddy-Daisy Wins Silver Bracket at Tennessee Tandem

The Soddy Daisy volleyball team won the SILVER CHAMPIONSHIP at the TANDEM TOURNAMENT this weekend. Soddy finished third in their pool Friday.  They opened with an undefeated Rossview team, that came into the tournament with no losses in any of their matches. Soddy was able to take a game and force a third game.

The Lady Trojans then beat Oak Ridge 2-1 before falling to Good Pasture 0-2. Good Pasture is the  defending State Champs in Class-A.

Tandem action on Saturday morning started at GPS. Soddy topped Zion Christian 2-0 and Sale Creek 2-0. Soddy won the Silver Finals by beating Chattanooga Christian 2-0 in the semi-finals and Chattanooga Central in the finals.

Soddy Daisy is now 28-11 for the season.

Ooltewah defeated Silverdale Baptist Academy 3-0 on Saturday in the Tandem volleyball tournament at Ooltewah High.

The Lady Owls (22-2), who lead District 5-AAA with a 7-0 record, beat the Lady Seahawks 25-7, 23-8 and 25-20 to take the sweep.

Hanna Matthews had 14 digs, 11 assists, one kill, one block and one ace for the Lady Owls. Courtlyn Ison had nine kills and three blocks.

The Baylor volleyball team improved to 29-6 after going 6-1 at the Tennessee Tandem volleyball tournament.  Baylor team defeated McMinn, CSAS, Blackman, Signal Mountain, Karns, and Walker Valley to make it to the gold division semifinal match.  The Red Raiders lost a hard-fought battle in the semifinals to eventual tournament champions Goodpasture 25-23, 25-19.  Baylor will host GPS on Tuesday at 5:30.

Officer Who Was Shot Returned Fire; Is Recovering Well; Shooter Still On Loose
