AT THE CHATTANOOGA ZOO! 
Saturday, September 21st, 2013 from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Animal attractions and interactions abound, but breaking boundaries and increasing disability awareness are at the heart of Go!Fest, which also will showcase activities, entertainment and information from various social service agencies and other civic-minded groups, businesses and institutions. Go!Fest is part of an initiative created to help make Chattanooga more accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability.Visitors of all abilities will go wild for a free day at the Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park during the 9th Annual Go!Fest Celebration. Click here for more!

#5   FREE LEXIA LITERACY PROGRAM SIGN UPS
FREE HOMEWORK HELP AND MORE!

Technology Based Program In 11 Youth and Family Development Centers. Homework help in 16 locations after school! 

Now that school is well under way, sign ups and registration continues for Lexia's CORE 5 Literacy Program that will revolutionize after school programs in 11 of our centers...Avondale, Brainerd, Carver, East Chattanooga, Eastdale, East Lake, North Chattanooga, Hixson, South Chattanooga,  Washington Hills, Westside

Remaining centers will feature Lexia later this year and in 2014, however all centers offer after school homework help for free!

#7    YOUTH ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLASSES AT BRAINERD CENTER!

For teens 13-17, every Wednesday from 4-6pm.

Ultimate is a team sport played with a flying disc. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end zone, similar to an end zone in football. Players may not run with the disc, and must keep a pivot while holding the disc. Want to learn the game? Why not. If you have a teen interested, swing by Brainerd on Wednesdays from 4-6pm. Or call 425-3600.

Adult women's basketball sign ups continue at Tyner/East Brainerd Center through this Wednesdaywith the season starting Setp. 30th. Games are playedon Sunday afternoons with full season, tournament and more. Cost is $250 at team. Call 855-2664 for more information.

Time to get out, speak out, and support your neighborhood and community! Several of our centers are hosting events and fairs, with two big ones this year at Eastdale and South Chattanooga Centers, starting at 6pm. Free activities, fun and much more. GET OUT and support your community!

City Facing Millions In Catchup Costs For Fire And Police Pension Fund

City Council members were told Tuesday they are facing millions of dollars in catchup costs for the fire and police pension fund. Pension fund officials said the city will need to invest some $1.6 million per year more with the fund to keep up with the latest state requirement.
