Ooltewah Principal Mark Bean Submits Retirement Papers

Ooltewah Principal Mark Bean, who was suspended without pay earlier this week, has retired from the school system.

Beverly Hollingsworth, assistant principal, was also suspended without pay.

School officials said they were investigating a conduct issue of the two school officials.

Jim Jarvis, assistant principal, is currently running the school.


July Is Record Month For Court-Ordered Restitution In TennCare Fraud Cases

The month of July brought a record for the state’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) in terms of the amount of money people have been ordered to repay the state for TennCare fraud. In July, people convicted of TennCare fraud were ordered to make $154,000 in restitution to TennCare. Marion County Man Facing Federal Gun Charge

A Marion County man is facing a federal weapons charge after a search warrant was executed at his residence at 1305 Hickory Ave. in South Pittsburg. The charge was brought against Edward Mckissick.
