Just Desserts Meets Sunday At Christ UMC

The Green Team at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Road, will be installing a new irrigation system and plants for the Prayer Garden Saturday, Sept. 28, at 9 a.m. Volunteers are needed.

Just Desserts for women will meet this Sunday, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Commons. The guest speaker will be Lisa Burkhardt Worley. For information or to sign up, contact Cathy Turner at 892-9363.

Matthew 28 Text For Easter Message At St. John United Methodist

Dr. Kenneth LaDuke will use as his text Matthew 28:1-6 for his Easter Sunday message at the 8;30 and 10:30 a.m. services at St. John United Methodist Church, 3921 Murray Hills Drive. Easter Egg Hunt Sunday At St. Jude Catholic

Easter Sunday masses at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m., 12:15 and 5:30 p.m. all in English. Haslam Signs Bill Ending Forced Annexation And Giving Tennesseans Right To Vote

Governor Bill Haslam signed HB 2371/SB2464 on Wednesday. The law ends forced annexations and gives Tennesseans the right to vote. The law now requires cities to annex by consent of the landowner or through referendum approved by a majority of the landowners to be annexed. One of the men labeled as the "worst of the worst" in a Chattanooga roundup was sentenced Tuesday to 10 months and three years supervised release after he pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
