Don't Chase Off The Delta Queen

Sunday, September 22, 2013
I've seen worse things on the river to complain about than the Delta Queen. The slowly sinking restaurant barge is the ugliest thing along the river by far. However, when you come to Coolidge Park, that ugly barge doesn't block most of your views of the river and the beautiful opposite shoreline.

I think there should be some kind of compromise as to where to dock the Delta Queen. Maybe slightly upstream or slightly downstream. Coolidge Park is the center of the North Shore riverfront and now there's just not much of a view from there, other than that huge floating motel.

Also, when I look up and down the river from Coolidge Park and across to the carousel and up to the Walnut Street Bridge, one thing I can't see are the offices of Berke, Berke & Berke....go figure.
